The first photo carries the profile
On every major app, the first photo decides 80% of swipes. It needs three things: your face, clear lighting, and a genuine expression. Group shots as photo one, sunglasses as photo one, or anything blurry kills the profile before the bio is read.
Variety in the next five photos
After photo one, you want variety: one body shot, one doing something (climbing, cooking, playing), one with friends (but not as photo one), one candid. Six similar selfies reads as 'nothing going on'. Six different contexts reads as 'this person has a life'.
Bio as the tiebreaker
If photos pass, bio decides. 'Love to travel' loses. A specific, short, inviting bio wins. Run your bio through the Roaster — it scores hook strength, specificity, and the invitation at the end.
